President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, said a welfare foundation for former national players will soon be instituted.
This he says will guarantee ready funding for them in case of unexpected health challenges.
Pinnick was speaking in London shortly after receiving former Nigerian captain,Christian Chukwu on arrival for medical treatment.
Christian Chukwu captained the famous Enugu Rangers International FC and the Nigeria national team in the 1970s and early 1980s.
He was one of the longest-serving captains of the Green Eagles, later renamed Super Eagles. He captained the team in 1980 when Nigeria won her first African Nations Cup.
