The federal government, through a notice released recently, took a decision where governors in Nigeria will not be able to tamper with local government funds in the country.
The notice entitled: Guidelines To Reduce Vulnerabilities Created by Cash Withdrawals from LG Funds throughout Nigeria, will take effect from 1st of June, 2019.
It also limits daily cash withdrawal from Local government accounts at 500,000 naira, while any transaction above that, must be done through cheques or e-transfer.
