Osun State Government said it will embark on some hydro power projects to reduce dependence on the national grid. Secretary to the Osun State Government, Wole Oyebamiji stated this when he inspected the mini Hydro electricity project in Ikeji-Ile.
Rafiu Hammed reports that the small hydro power project was initiated in 2012 under the Administration of Rauf Aregbesola. It’s meant to generate Electricity for the water corporation in Ikeji-Ile and to also serve people of the community and Ipetu-Ijesa, a neighboring town.
The project has reached 90% completion even with the plan to Construct another forebay.
