The chairman Of the Kulah Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, has appealed to Biokpomabo Awara, governorship candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the 2019 general election, to withdraw his case at the Tribunal.
The members of the council urged the AAC candidate to accept the hand of fellowship extended to him and work with the governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike.
Correspondent Habidah Lawal reports that the turbulent 2019 general elections, again brought to the fore, the volatile nature of Rivers State politics. But now the elections are over, and Governor Nyesom Wike, is committed to constituting an inclusive government in his second term, to douse the tension in the land.
But there is an obstacle to achieving this, the candidate of the AAC having challenged Governor reelection at the Rivers state election tribunal. It is why the Traditional Rulers from Rivers state have decided to embark 9n a fence mending mission
They called upon Biokpomabo Awara to prevail on him to withdraw the petition from the tribunal in the interest of peace. But the AAC Candidate insists he must consult widely with the leadership of his party and his supporters in the state before taking a decision on
the matter.
The AAC candidate had alleged gross irregularities in the resumed collation of the state governorship election result that saw Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) re-elected as Governor of the state.
