The Zamfara state police command has denied reports that students from government girls secondary school in Moriki were abducted.
A press release from the command confirmed that it received a distress call on Wednesday that unidentified number of armed men gained access into Government Girls secondary school Moriki in Zurmi LGA with intent to attack the school and abduct students.
A combined team of police and Civilian JTF personnel headed by the DPO moved to the school, confronted the armed men and stopped them from gaining access to the students hostels, took a retreat back to the bush.
Two caterers and three of their children were later discovered missing.
The police is working with the school authority to find the missing persons.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the school and its environment to forestall further happening.
