For the first time, Africa will be presenting two teams in the knock-out phase of the FIFA Women’s Wolrd CUp in France following Cameron’s 2-1 victory over New Zealand in their final group game.
Ajara Nchout scored two brilliant goals, including an injury-time winner to send Cameroon dramatically through to the last 16 of the World Cup.
The result pushed Cameroon into the next round of the competition as one of the best third-placed teams.
They seemed to be crashing out after defender Aurelle Awona sliced a volley into her own net with 10 minutes remaining to level scores at 1-1.
But Nchout scored a second a second goal inside injury time to win the game for Cameroon and qualify the team into the next round.
