French authorities have questioned the President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Ahmad Ahmad, after he was arrested in Paris earlier on Thursday.
Ahmad was attending the FIFA Congress in france ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Reports indicate the 59-year-old’s arrest is connected with a CAF unilateral breach of contract with German sportswear company, Puma
CAF broke the deal with Puma to engage with another firm, Technical Steel, based in France
Ahmad signed off the deal in favour of Technical Steel, following a reported payment of a total of 739 000 Euros to the CAF president in order to get the deal sanctioned.
