The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission has been asked to institute an immediate probe into the administration of funds meant for constituency projects across the country.
To kick start the national audit, is a query over how twenty four billion naira meant for constituency projects in Kogi State was expended by lawmakers between 2007 and 2019.
The federal government has taken its ant-corruption war to the National Assembly and to Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
This is under a new policy designed to check the siphoning of public funds through questionable projects.
The government mandated the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to probe the constituency projects initiated by lawmakers in 12 states selected from the six geo-political zones of the country.
In the North Central, ICPC officials will visit Kogi and Benue States.
A group from Kogi state is asking that the ICPC should as a matter of urgency focus its probe on abandoned constituency projects in the state.
Some of the projects listed by the group include; the construction of Aiyetoro Gbede stadium, Kabba town hall which were awarded a long time ago.
