Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has called for a robust relationship between the Legislative and Executive arm of government.
The State chief executive made the call during the inauguration of the 9th Assembly in Ibadan where he also promised to urgently forward two bills to
the assembly so as to move the state forward.
Correspondent Olutayo Famous Cole reports that a 32 year old lawmaker, Adebo Ogunoyin, who emerged speaker, urged his colleagues to meet minds irrespective of party affiliations and work tirelessly in the interest of the state.
Speaking at the launch of the 9th Assembly, the state governor described the legislature as the backbone of any government. Makinde said he would hit the ground running by urgently presenting two executive bills to the house.
With 26 young men as members, the People’s Democratic Party is in firm control of the house, while the All Progressives Congress trails with just 5
members with the only female member from the Action Democratic Party.
