English Premier League Champions, Manchester City, has asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to block Uefa’s planned sanctioning of the club over its financial affairs
Man City hit out at Uefa after the European football body confirmed that it will refer the club to the adjudicatory chamber of its Club Financial Control Body.
This follows the New York Times report that City would be hit with a ban from the Champions League after an investigation into allegations that the club misled regulators over its finances.
The FFP accusations emerged last year when German magazine Der Spiegel claimed that City was disguising huge investment from its owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, as deals through UAE-based companies.
