Traffic was disrupted at the Mbiama axis of the East – West Road when truck drivers barricaded the road in protest over the killing of their colleague, allegedly by an unnamed task force.
The action which led to a four- hour gridlock is now a subject of concern for motorists who want the State and Federal Government to check the activities of uniformed personnel along the highways.
The Mbiama axis of the East-West Road was a chaotic scene Friday morning.
Truck drivers had barricaded the road in protest over the death of one of their colleagues whose body covered with plantain leaves became a spectacle of pity by Commuters and passerby.
The action by the angry truck drivers in solidarity with their slain colleague led to a gridlock at the East-West road, but motorists believe that such occurrences could have been averted.
It took the intervention of personnel of the military to bring the under control, but only after, the body was taken away by a Police van, leaving the truck behind.
