The Delta state government is still investigating the collapse of a three-storey building in Abraka that claimed four lives.
The secretary to the state government says the developer of the building contravened the law and has been arrested.
Excavation work is still ongoing at the site of the collapsed building.
Two bodies are yet to be recovered.
Secretary to the state government Chiedu Ebie was at the site to get firsthand information on why the building caved in.
He didn’t mince words as he accused the developer of violating the approved building standards.
The SSG also ordered for the closure of the developers other buildings, a hotel, until proper checks are carried out.
The six lucky workers who survived were all sleeping inside the building on that fateful day. A man identified as Moses Adebayo was said to be the one who heard a cracking sound that alerted the others but the other four couldn’t make it. They are all from Togo.
