Germany’s Alexander Zverev defeated Federico Delbonis 6-4, 7-6 to reach the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open.
Second seeded Zverev, took the first set after breaking the Argentine’s serve in the third game.
Zverev broke to lead 6-5 in the second set and was serving for the match but Delbonis fought back to level at 6-6. The German recovered his consistency in the tie break and secured the win in one hour and 47 minutes.
Also through to the quarter-finals is Fabio Fognini of Italy who beat Germany’s Rudolf Molleker 7-5, 6-4.
Fognini broke in the second set to lead 5-4 after Molleker double faulted and the Italian then served out for the match.
Fognini will next face Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, who overcame Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 6-1, 7-6(4).
