Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria are again holding another protest which has turned violent.
The protesters forced their way into the national assembly, smashing cars and attacking security operatives. Passerby were not spared by the protesters that had become an irate mob.
Police operatives say mob seized the rifle of a police man, beat him to pulp and attempted to kill him. Soldiers of the guards brigade intervene firing shots at the advancing mob making them to eventually scamper for safety .
They were asking for the release of the their leader Sheik El Zakzaky who is in custody of the secret police in spite of court decisions ordering his release
El zakzaky was arrested in 2015 following a clampdown on his supporters who blocked the army chief, Tukur Buratai from using a public road.
