Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has visited the Ago-Alaye and Araromi-Obu in Odigbo Local Government, where communal clashes broke out on Tuesday, last week, over a land dispute.
The Governor was in the communities to access the level of destruction caused by the crisis. Several people were injured, while one person was reportedly killed in
the fracas.
The violent clash prompted Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to visit the area to assess the extent of damage at the scene of the violent clash.
The Governor was accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier-General Zakari Abubakar and other security chiefs.
Governor Akeredolu had earlier declared twenty-four hour curfew on Ago-Alaye town, as part of measures to prevent escalation of the violence.
Meanwhile, some leaders from Araromi-Obu sent a safe-our-soul message to the state Governor at a press briefing in Akure.
They want those behind the mayhem to be punished.
It is hoped that the visit of the governor to the area will bring lasting peace.
