Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Alek Sigley an Australian who went missing in North Korea has been released and is safe.
The announcement came after a meeting between officials from the Swedish embassy in Pyongyang and the North Korean government.
Mr Sigley, was reported missing in North Korea last week.
Australian officials had said at the time, that they were urgently seeking to confirm reports that he had been detained.
Mr Sigley, one of very few foreigners living in Pyongyang, was pursuing a master’s degree and running a tourism business.
