A joint committee of the Nigeria Customs Service and Nafdac has destroyed harmful Pharmaceutical products, worth over Fourteen Billion naira, including Tramadol, being widely abused by the nation’s Youth.
Harmful drugs have been found to destroy the productive population of a nation. Many youth take them to numb their feelings to carry out violent and daring acts. The very reason why the govt is checkmating their use and spread, through the operations of Nafdac and the Nigeria customs.
The Nigeria customs maintains smuggling is not a business, but a crime and countries that manufacture harmful drugs for other nationals to consume, should not think Nigeria will remain a place for steady business.
Watchers of illegal drugs trade in Nigeria say, what goes round, comes round. No poor man can do business in billions of Naira, so the desperately rich, who want to get richer, should remember that their kids, have more access to money to buy hard drugs; and they would consume them, even before influencing, the children of the poor.
