Staff of the National Commission for Mass Literacy Adult and Non formal Education, have accused the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Haladu Abubakar of running a one-man management.
Among their grievances alleged refusal of Mr. Haladu to confirm the appointment of eligible officers of the Commission since 2015 and refusal to conduct promotion exercise for qualified staff in the last four years.
The strike began last Wednesday and the workers say only the sack of Mr. Haladu will make them return to their desks.
They are demanding among others, due promotion to deserving staff, staff to be migrated to the IPPIS platform, a stop to alleged victimisation of staff, adherence to the procurement act and the remittance of all statutory deductions as at when due.
When contacted on phone, Mr. Haladu insisted he would not respond to the workers ‘ allegations, describing their demands as “old issues”.
