Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila is to announce the composition of an ad hoc panel that will investigate circumstances surrounding Wednesday’s fracas and the attempt on the mace.
A motion to that effect was moved by Mr. Benjamin Kalu from Abia state on a matter of privilege. Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has warned Kingsley Chinda of Rivers state against testing the resolve of the House.
Mr. Chinda at Thursday plenary, defied Speaker Gbajabiamila ‘s announcement of Ndudi Elumelu as Minority Leader the day before and took the seat even before the arrival of principal officers.
Mr. Chinda indicated his interest to speak, but the Speaker was emphatic he would not recognise Mr. Chinda because he was not on his assigned seat.
As Mr. Chinda insisted on raising a point of order, Speaker Gbajabiamila waned that the House would descend heavily on anyone who tests its resolve.
