United States President, Donald Trump, has denied his tweets about four Democratic congresswomen are racist, calling on them to apologise to him.
He also renewed his attacks, suggesting the women, who are from ethnically diverse backgrounds, ought to “go home” if they are not satisfied with the state of the nation.
He did not mention names in his initial Sunday tweets but appeared to reference representatives, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib.
The group known as “the squad” have been critical of President Trump and the current Democratic leadership of the house.
Three of the women were born in the country while one is a Somali refugee.
