A delegation from the Federal Ministry of Power is seeking the support of the Taraba state government for a hitch-free completion of the Mambilla Hydro Power Station Project.
Representatives of Hyna-Hydro and CGGC, two leading power construction companies in China, are in Taraba state as part of the team for the inspection of the Mambila hydro power station.
They’re seeking the support of the state government and the people of Taraba state, to make a success of the tour.
Their visit rekindles hope that the hydro power project neglected by previous administrations for 36 years, may finally see the light of day.
Governor Darius Ishaku believes that with fresh attention and policy implementation, Taraba state will be home to a project of immense pride, conceived about 40
years ago.
The governor assured the federal govt team of maximum cooperation and security.
Residents of Taraba say their hopes had often times been raised and dashed in the past. But this time, they want the federal government to demonstrate real commitment to the electricity project.
The mambilla hydro electricity project is projected to generate 3050 megawatts of power to help accelerate national development.
It is one project, which is very crucial to the nation’s aspirations to have stable power supply and economic recovery.
