The recent dissolution and appointment of a new leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission has been rejected by the “Niger Delta Youth Advocates For Good Governance”.
At a peaceful protest to the East-West Road bordering Bayelsa and Rivers States, members of the group doubted the authenticity of the appointments,
and pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse it.
Professor Nelson Brambaifa has been in Acting Capacity as Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission since the 25th of January before an announcement of the dissolution and appointment of a new leadership on the 27th of August.
This development does not seem to go down well with members of the “Niger Delta Youth Advocates For Good Governance” who took to the East-West Road calling for the retention of the policy of rotation as enshrined in the NDDC act.
Member of the youth group make an appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the matter. The group has promised to take its protest to Abuja to address what they call an injustice to Bayelsa State.
