The Inspector General of Police has said that the protesters arrested in Lagos in connection with anti-xenophobic attacks of Nigerians in South Africa would be prosecuted.
Muhammed Adamu spoke to journalists in Ado Ekiti after meeting a cross section of Ekiti citizens.
The IGP proceeded from the welcome formality to meet a cross section of the people as well as the men and officers of the Ekiti police command.
Ekiti State Commissioner of Police welcomed his boss and explained that the command was succeeding in the fight against crime and criminality.
Responding, the IGP commended the command and promised to continue to address their welfare.
Community leaders and other stakeholders at the occasion had the opportunity to address the IGP.
Newsmen later took on the IGP on the crack down of the police on anti – xenophobic protesters in Lagos to which the police boss said that the arrested protesters would be prosecuted.
The IGP left for Akure to pay a similar visit to the Ondo State Police command
