Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, operating in Benue, Taraba, and Nasarawa States have arrested 19 suspected criminals engaged in kidnapping, cattle rustling, and illegal arms manufacturing.
Disclosing this while parading the suspects in Makurdi, the Operation’s Force Commander, Adeyemi Yekini, said the arrests are part of steps taken to break the weapons supply chain, in the three states.
Breaking the weapons supply chains has been a major focus of Operation Whirl Stroke.
This has led to the arrest of the leader of three weapons supply syndicates, Andrew Nnbose also known as don Moji.
Other suspects arrested were said to be suppliers of Narcotics to Terwase Akwaza, alias ‘Gana’
The operation commander affirms that the arrest was a major breakthrough in the manhunt for wanted criminals
The alleged leader of the weapon supply chain and other suspects admit their roles in the crimes committed.
Ten suspects involved in kidnapping activities were also paraded.
These suspects who were found with weapons, ammunition, handsets as well as charms will be handed over for prosecution.
