British members of parliament will be holding a snap election today .
Today’s vote is Labour’s last chance to secure an early general election and have the chance to win its own mandate from the public to delay Brexit.
Prime minister Boris Johnson first called for a snap election after the members of parliament voted in favour of a bill requiring him to seek an extension to the Brexit deadline of October 31 if a deal is not reached by October 19.
The motion, which requires the support of two-thirds of members of parliament was defeated for a first time last week.
