The Delta state government is set to commence work on the bad portions of the Warri-Sapele road and other federal roads within the state.
This was revealed during an inspection tour of the roads.
Warri-Sapele road is major federal road that connects the south-west states to major cities in the Niger Delta.
From Benin the capital of Edo State to Sapele and Warri- the oil city before connecting to Ughelli, Yenagoa and then to Port Harcourt. The road is a very busy commercial road.
The failed portions is causing traffic build up and loss of man-hour and increase in transport fare
Some young men have taking advantage of the situation to make brisk business from removing stuck vehicles
Commissioner for works and his Information counterpart were there to access the situation for themselves.
At another major federal road, the Ughelli-Asaba road which connects the state to South East, the Commissioners inspected the ongoing construction at the Oghara-Iyede stretch
