Residents in Ondo state are demanding for justice for a woman, Dorcas Daniyan, who was burnt to death by her husband over the purchase of a piece of land. This comes after the State Police Command announced that it has arrested the alleged crime suspect.
Ayodeji Moradeyo reports the gruesome murder of Dorcas Daniyan is still a surprise to many residents of Shagari area of Akure, the Ondo State capital. The people of the area are yet to come to terms with the unfortunate incident.
The victim, a mother of four, was said to have been set ablaze by her husband of over fifteen years. The couple have been at loggerheads as a result of decision of Dorcas to buy a piece of land without putting her husband’s name on the document as co-owner.
Residence of Onigari are now calling for justice. They want the killer husband to face the full weight of the law.
The Ondo State Police Command has assured the family that justice will be served on any person found guilty in the matter. The command’s spokesman, Femi Joseph said the suspect’s daughter made some statements that linked him to the crime.
