Seven-man committee recommends Dansoshiya forest in Kano for rural grazing project

The Dansoshiya forest in Kano state has been identified as one of the best locations for the establishment of a Rural Grazing Area settlement.
This was disclosed by the seven-man committee working on the establishment of the settlement and a milk market.

The establishment of Rural Grazing Area Settlement is now slowly becoming a reality in Kano State, Northwest Nigeria.

This is coming barely six weeks since the Kano State Government began the move to settle herders in a single community.

The committee created to work on the establishment of the RUGA Settlement submitted its report to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Dansoshiya Forest situated in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State was selected by the committee as a suitable location for the establishment of the grazing reserve.

A master plan for the establishment of a Milk Market was also unveiled alongside facilities like a veterinary clinic, a dispensary, an earth dam and a security post.

The Kano State Government is optimistic that the establishment of RUGA would yield positive results and bring an end to farmer-herder crisis bedeviling some parts of the country.
