TVC Communications to Host the18th Annual General Meeting (AGM)/72nd General Assembly of Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) In Lagos
Lagos, September 10th, 2019: Nigeria’s leading independent broadcasting company, TVC Communications, owners of TVC, TVC News, Max FM Lagos and Abuja and Adaba FM today announced that it has been chosen to host the 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the 72nd General Assembly of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) in Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday 23rd October, 2019.
Theme “Nigeria Digital Transition, a panacea for economic growth“, this year’s event seeks to further discuss issues of mutual interest geared towards moving the Nigeria broadcast industry forward and entrenching best practices.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, TVC Communications, Andrew Hanlon, “TVC Communications is delighted to host this years’ annual convention of broadcasters from all corners of Nigeria, particularly as we enter a period of major change in the broadcast sector. For those of us who work in TV broadcasting and those who watch and advertise on our channels, this is a time of immense change as we prepare for the Digital Switch-Over to DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television).”
“Most people in Nigeria have little or no idea that the old way of receiving TV signals in their homes is about to radically change from analogue to digital, nor do they understand the technology they will require to receive new high quality TV signals nor the cost involved. Both I and the TVC Communications team look forward to hosting robust debate with signal providers, government and regulators at this timely and important gathering of Nigeria’s broadcasting community.”
The Acting Chairman of BON, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa in his comment said “I am pleased to announce to you the 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM)/72nd General Assembly of Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) holding between October 22 – 23, 2019 at TVC premises, 1, Continental Way, off CMD Road, Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos to be hosted by TVC Communications.”
“Delegates are expected to arrive Lagos on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 and depart on Thursday, October 24, 2019. I will highly appreciate if all BON members attend this 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM)/72nd General Assembly in person as some critical industry decisions will be taken. The Acting Chairman of BON and our host, TVC Communication look forward to welcoming you personally to Lagos.” He added.
The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) is a broad coalition of public and private broadcast organisations, duly registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, as the nation’s umbrella body of Terrestrial Free-to-Air Radio and Television (Tv), Direct-To-Home (DTH), Digital Terrestial Television (DTT) and Multimedia Distribution System (MMDS). Essentially, BON is therefore an independent, non-governmental umbrella association of all private, public, commercial and community electronic media houses in Nigeria and TVC Communications is proud to be an active member.
