Typhoon Faxai has made a landfall in Tokyo, throwing more than nine hundred thousand homes into darkness.
More than one hundred and thirty flights have been cancelled and train lines have been closed for hours.
With winds up to two hundred and ten kilometres per hour, Faxai is one of the strongest typhoons to hit the Japanese capital in a decade.
