The Presidential Task Team has condemned in its entirety the ugly incident which occurred last Thursday at the Nigerian Ports Authority Lillypond Truck Transit Park at Ijora, Lagos State, that led to the loss of a life and property.
The task force team faulted the violence which was reportedly escalated by some individuals opposed to the operations of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences task force in the area.
The Vice chairman of the taskforce team, Kayode Opeifa in a press statement stated categorically that the Presidential Task team was not involved with the unfortunate incident, and called on those spreading false claims to henceforth desist.
While empathizing with the management and staff of Nigeria Ports Authority whose vehicles and offices were attacked, Mr. Opeifa commended the efforts of the Nigerian Police, Lagos Command, and the Lagos State Task force on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences task force for quickly bringing the situation under control.
