The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has presented the sum of one hundred and eleven million naira (N111 million) recovered from suspected treasury looters to the Kwara state government.
Head of the agency’s office in Ilorin, Isyaku Sharu, said the money was recovered from those who allegedly misappropriated landed properties of Harmony holdings, an investment outfit of the state government.
Parts of the loots were also recovered from those who diverted funds meant for the micro, small and medium scale credit scheme.
Among the suspects are public office holders, top civil servants and a traditional ruler.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was on hand to personally collect the recovered loots, assured the people of Kwara state that their resources are in good hands and would be judiciously used.
