An extraordinary meeting of the Federal Executive Council has started at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting earlier slated for Saturday was rescheduled to Monday and is being presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the presidency, the meeting is to put finishing touch to the 2020 spending plan proposed by the executive arm of government.
The President is also expected to present it to a joint session of the national assembly on Tuesday.

The national assembly has promised an accelerated deliberation of the budget and speedy passage to allow the budget return to the normal January to December cycle.
