The technical working group on migration and development in Nigeria, has launched a National Migration database to help collate the country’s migration data for prompt and adequate attention to migration and returnee issues.
TVC News Correspondent, Moyo Thomas reports that the international organization for Migration is to support this initiative with nine computers and internet services.
This development is on the sidelines of a meeting organised by the Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally displaced persons under an EU funded migration governance and reintegration project.
The discussions center around the EU-IOM Initiative for migration protection and reintegration in Nigeria.
The technical working group on migration and development in Nigeria is an interface that brings together relevant ministries, departments and agencies involved in migrant management.
Its objective is to enhance effective collaboration, coordination and information sharing amongst stakeholders .
