Ikeja Electric has inaugurated its first franchise project in its coverage area ss part of efforts aimed at facilitating improved engagement with customers.
The aim is to offer electricity consumers on the spot resolution of complaints and address issues around estimated billings and metering.
The privatisation exercise of Nigerian electricity supply industry in September 2013 led to the sale of six generation companies and 11 distribution companies to investors who acquired a minimum of 60 percent of the shares of each company.
Following the development all concerned parties have continued to trade blames, as the level of supply continues to hover between 3,500, 4000 megawatts.
Distribution companies on their part are trying to improve customer satisfaction by providing services accessible to all on their network. This strategy is also aimed at creating employment opportunities for Nigeria’s teaming youth in line with the support for nation building and economic prosperity.
It is expected that issues around metering, estimated billings, infrastructure challenges amongst other will be addressed at this facility to help improve electricity supply across board.
