Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, said the federal government is still considering returning toll plazas to major highways in the countrybut there is no specific time when the tolls will start.
The minister also disclosed that the federal executive council approved more contracts for the construction of roads in the country.
Senior Correspondent, Femi Akande, reports that the second phase of the 101km long stretch of the suleja-Lambata-Minna road got council’s approval and it will gulp the sum of 36.2 billion Naira.
Motorists plying the Ibadan- Ilesha Bypass will also begin to enjoy the journey when the 2 kilometres road contract is completed.
After the Federal Executive Council meeting, President Muhammadu Buhari embarked on his much anticipated trip to south Africa where he is expected to hold bi-lateral talks with the country’s President Cyril Ramaphosa to discuss the welfare of Nigerians and he will also hold a town hall meeting with Nigerians and hear first hand accounts of xenophobic attack in the country.
