The Federal government has donated relief materials to more than 3,000 flood victims in Adamawa State. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, who made the donation on behalf of the federal government, urged beneficiaries to make good use of items received.
She cautioned the locals on dangers of erecting structures on waterways as building houses in compliance with town planning standards prevents floods.
Beneficiaries are pleased with government’s swift response to their ordeal.
The minister also paid a courtesy call on the Adamawa monarch , who was appreciative of the president‘s support to his people.
Hundred communities in nine local government areas of Adamawa state were submerged in the floods following a three day downpour.
Many farmers also lost their means of livelihood.
