The Nigerian Agip Oil Company and its Joint Venture Partners said they’re committed to supporting farmers to achieve food sufficiency in Nigeria.This was the major point of emphasis at the 23rd Green River Project “Farmers Day Celebration” in Obie, Rivers State.
Ovieteme George reports that conceived to attain the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 1,2 and 8, the Green River Project of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and its Joint Venture Partners covers Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers States.
The father’s day celebration is an avenue for farmers and cooperative societies to showcase their products, produce and services in an atmosphere of celebration, interaction and networking.
In 2018, the Green River Project assisted 2,554 farmers with updated and sustainable techniques of seeds and seedlings to improve productivity and
income.
Awards were presented to outstanding farmers for productive yield in the season.
