Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki was attacked today by suspected hoodlums at the home of the former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Governor Obaseki, the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and the Chancellor of the state University were attacked by suspected thugs after they had gone to Mr Oshiomhole’s house to honour an invitation for lunch.
It took the intervention of the governor’s security details to prevent a blood bath as several vehicles were smashed by the hoodlums.
Governor Obaseki and the other guests had attended the maiden convocation ceremony of the Edo University before proceeding to Mr Oshiomhole’s home.

Meanwhile, the Governor has condemned the attack. He stressed that he will continue to pursue peace despite today’s incident.
