Roger Federer was beaten by an impressive Dominic Thiem for a third time this season in London on Sunday.
Roger Federer’s pursuit of a seventh ATP Finals title got off to a poor start following a 7-5 7-5 loss to Austrian Dominic Thiem in his opening group match.
Federer dropped his opening service game and could not recover, leaving Thiem to take full advantage for a third win over Federer.
Thiem who had lost to Federer in the group stage last year, kept his opponent under pressure en-route his straight sets victory.
He now leads Federer 5-2 on head-to-head and will next face Novak Djokovic on Tuesday while Federer plays Italian debutant, Berrettini.
