Two White House senior aides have told the United States Congress’ impeachment inquiry they were concerned after listening to President Donald Trump’s phone call on July 25 with the leader of Ukraine.
The White House attacked its own top Ukraine official as he testified to an impeachment hearing that a phone call made by the president was “improper” and had left him in “shock”.
Lt Col Alexander Vindman told Congress that President Donald Trump made “inappropriate” political demands of the Ukrainian president.
Army Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Vindman, a White House national security official for Ukraine, and Jennifer Williams, a State Department foreign policy aide to Vice President Mike Pence, appeared publicly on Tuesday for the first time and said they were concerned by the call.
