A bill seeking to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Rigasa , Kaduna State has sailed through second reading in the Senate.
The bill which was sponsored by Senator Uba Sani representing Kaduna Central proposing for the establishment of the Healthcare Centre is to help mitigate the gap between primary,Secondary and tertiary healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
Quality healthcare remains very essential to human life .
As Nigeria’s population continues to grow , the gap between primary to tertiary healthcare has widened, making it difficult to meet up with healthcare demands.
Accessibility to medical facilities, high cost of medical care and the inadequacy of medical personnel are major Contributory factors to this healthcare constraints especially in rural areas
Senator Sani Uba who represents Kaduna central senatorial district believes it is now time to give adequate attention to the healthcare delivery in his State, by establishing a healthcare facility to satisfy the yearnings for quality healthcare.
The healthcare center when established will provide quality medical treatment to Nigerians and improve the standard of living of citizens in the region.
The Bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Healthcare for further legislative action and is to report back in four weeks .
