Chelsea Football club have been given clearance to sign new players after their appeal against a transfer ban imposed by FIFA was reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
FIFA handed the club a two-window transfer ban in February after they were found guilty of breaching two of FIFA’s regulations on player transfers, by signing players Under 18 years with ‘third-party influence’.
Chelsea was barred from signing players during the winter transfer window, after it’s first appeal against the sanctions was thrown out by FIFA’s appeal committe in April.
With the verdict from the court of arbitration, Chelsea will be eligible to sign new players from January 2020.
