Senate Committee on Judiciary Human Rights and Legal Matters, on Thursday, ordered the Department of State Service, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubarkar Mallami, and Femi Falana, Counsel to the detained #Revolution now Campaigner, Omoyele Sowore, to submit their Memorandum to the Committee secretariat within 24 hours over alleged invasion of a court room.
Others also expected to submit their Memorandum to the Senate Panel are: the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, Barrister Tony Ojukwu, Office of the Chief Judge of Federal High Court and the presiding Judge at the time of the alleged invasion, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu.
Chairman of the Senate Committee, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele while giving the directive stated that the panel would be unable to proceed with its scheduled investigative hearing after the Senate suspended all activities in honour of Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu who died in Abuja on Wednesday.
Present at the hearing were the the Director-General, DSS, Yusuf Bichi, the Solicitor-General of the Federation, Dayo Apata, and a representative from the Falana Chambers.
DSS operatives had allegedly invaded the Federal High Court in Abuja to rearrest the Journalist and publisher of SaharaReporter, Omoyele Sowore a few hours after he was released.
