The body of the first military governor of Lagos state, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson is now lying in state at the Methodist Church in Yaba.
In attendance are former military head of state Yakubu Gowon, former military governors of Lagos state, Buba Marwa, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Ndubisi Kanu and other top military personnel to honour the man who set the pace for the new modern Lagos.
Brigadier Johnson was made governor in 1967 and for eight years he administered the state until he retired in 1975.
Family and friends have paid glowing tributes to brigadier Johnson while clerics admonished Nigerians to live a life free of corruption.
