Six Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps were injured in the line of duty on Friday.
TVC News learnt that one of the six officers attacked in the course of carrying out enforcement on street traders along Queens Drive in Ikoyi is in critical Condition in hospital.
The aftermath Left three operational trucks damaged.
The exercise, is part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s mandate to rid the State of all environmental nuisance including street trading on walk ways and the erection of illegal shanties across the State.
It has been alleged that staff of the Federal High Court who patronise street traders obstructed the operatives and prevented them from dislodging the street traders who had been given several notices to vacate the location as a result of a blockage in drainage channels.
The team is said to have been attacked by high court staff aided by private security personnel who pelted the Lagos state officials with stones and other dangerous weapons.
The operation did not have anything to do with the staff of the court.
