The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for the removal of import duty and taxes on solar equipment, to improve access to renewable energy solutions.
This was made known by the Director-General, LCCI, Muda Yusuf.
This move comes following the recent suggestion that a state of emergency be declared in the power sector by the Senate President.
Mister Yusuf said there was a need to encourage the use of alternative sources of power such as solar as the power sector reform had not delivered the desired outcomes.
He added that its important to ensure increased promotion of renewable energy solutions through the enactment of policies.
