Normalcy has returned to Akure, capital of Ondo state, after the Sotitobire Miracle Centre, situated at Oshinle in Akure was burnt down by irate youths.
The youths invaded the church following unconfirmed reports that the remains of a boy who went missing in the church over a month ago had been exhumed from the church’s altar.
Three persons including a policeman were killed in the incident that trailed the action.
Oshinle area of Akure lost its peace on Wednesday when the community was invaded by irate youths.
The protest was propelled by unconfirmed news that the corpse of one-year old boy, Gold Kolawole, who went missing over a month ago was exhumed from the church’s altar.
The mob set the church and cars in the environment on fire while members said to be conducting a service ran for their lives.
While the destruction went on, there was no one who could confirm to have witnessed the exhumation of the body of the missing child.
There was another report that a young man that was killed by a bullet fired by the police deployed to calm the situation.

In the meantime, the state police command has called for peace, saying the command is on top of the situation.
At the time of filling this report, normalcy has returned to the area following the reinforcement of more security operatives who have commenced arrest of many residents of the area, suspected to have masterminded the violence.
