Kuwait and Saudi Arabia could reach an agreement by the end of this year to renew oil output in the shared neutral zone along their border.
This is according to industry sources.
The fields, which normally produce about 500,000 barrels of crude a day, shut down three years ago due to disputes over land-use and environmental permits.

Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al Jarallah said talks between Kuwait and Riyadh on the issue were “very positive” and an agreement has been reached.
A formal deal on the zone is expected to be signed in Kuwait on Tuesday.
