Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has condoled with the family of former international, Philip Osondu who passed away on Saturday
The 48 year old who was based in Belgium died few minutes after he was taken to a hospital for treatment, but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Osondu, was a member of the Golden Eaglets squad, that finished second at the 1987 FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Canada, and was awarded the Golden Ball for his impressive performance at the tournament.
He played for El Kanemi Warriors in the Nigerian league before he was signed by Anderlecht in 1988.
His former team mate, Mutiu Adepoju also penned his condolence message to the family of late Osondu, describing him as a very gifted player.
